Quick Start
Get your crowdfunding site up and running in a few minutes.
1. Configure required pages
Section titled “1. Configure required pages”Go to Ignition → Settings in your WordPress admin. The plugin needs a few pages to work, each hosting a specific block:
- Login / Register Page — where visitors sign in or create an account.
- Dashboard Page — the frontend dashboard where backers track pledges and manage their account. It also hosts the campaign wizard (for creating and editing campaigns) and a campaign’s management view.
- Checkout Page — where backers review and confirm their pledges.
An optional Terms & Conditions Page adds an acceptance checkbox to checkout and registration.
For each page you can either click Create Page to auto-generate it with the correct block inserted, or select an existing page that already contains the block or shortcode.
2. Set up currency and payments
Section titled “2. Set up currency and payments”Still in Settings:
- Currency — select the currency for your site (default: USD).
- Suggested amounts — add up to six preset amounts that appear as quick-select chips on the pledge form (e.g., 10, 25, 50, 100). You can also set minimum and maximum pledge amounts.
- Offline payment instructions — on the Payments tab, open the Offline gateway and write the instructions backers see after pledging. Use placeholders like
{amount},{campaign_name}, and{pledge_id}to personalize.
3. Create a campaign
Section titled “3. Create a campaign”Campaigns are authored by staff from the frontend wizard:
- In wp-admin, go to Ignition → Campaigns and click Add New — this opens the campaign form.
- Fill in the campaign details: title, description, goal, funding model, dates, and a featured image.
- Click Publish Campaign.
With no start date (or a past one), the campaign goes live immediately; with a future start date, it enters Preview until then. See Creating a Campaign for every field.
4. View your campaign
Section titled “4. View your campaign”Once published, the campaign appears on:
- the campaign archive at
/campaign/(or your configured archive slug), and - its own single campaign page at
/campaign/{slug}/.
5. Test a pledge
Section titled “5. Test a pledge”- Visit your campaign’s single page (as a different user or in another browser).
- Select a suggested amount or enter a custom amount in the pledge form.
- Click Pledge — you’ll be taken to the Checkout page.
- Review the pledge details and click Confirm Pledge.
- The confirmation screen displays your offline payment instructions.
The pledge now appears in the backer’s Pledges tab on the dashboard, and in the campaign’s management view.
