Pledges
The Pledges item in the dashboard nav lists all pledges the backer has made across campaigns.
Pledge list
Section titled “Pledge list”Each pledge card displays:
- Campaign name — linked to the campaign page, with the campaign’s own status badge beside it
- Amount — formatted with the site currency
- Date — when the pledge was made
- Status badge — current pledge status
The campaign status badge is there so a pledge to a test campaign is visibly marked as one, rather than sitting in the list looking like an ordinary pledge. Backers see their own test-campaign pledges as normal — the account is real, the emails were real, and the admin-side Live/Test view never applies to a backer’s own dashboard.
Status badges
Section titled “Status badges”| Status | Color | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | Amber | Awaiting payment |
| Succeeded | Green | Payment received |
| Canceled | Grey | Pledge withdrawn |
When a pledge has been refunded, a neutral Partial Refund or Full Refund chip appears beside the status badge. A refunded pledge keeps its Succeeded badge — the refund is shown separately, never as a status. See Refunds.
The Amount on each row is what the backer has actually paid: the pledge amount while the pledge is still awaiting payment, the amount charged less any refund once payment has gone through, and $0.00 for a fully refunded or canceled pledge. Where an add-on let the backer add something on top of their pledge, this figure is the whole charge, not just the pledge — the pledge’s own page itemises the difference.
Actions
Section titled “Actions”| Status | Available actions |
|---|---|
| Pending | Cancel |
| Succeeded | — |
| Canceled | — |
Cancelling a pledge
Section titled “Cancelling a pledge”Click Cancel on a Pending pledge to withdraw it. A confirmation prompt appears before the cancellation is processed. Once canceled, the pledge status changes to Canceled and cannot be reversed.
Pagination
Section titled “Pagination”When you have more than 20 pledges, Previous and Next navigation links appear at the bottom of the list.
Guest users
Section titled “Guest users”Backers who pledged using guest checkout see a message prompting them to set up an account instead of the pledge list. This restriction prevents someone from viewing another person’s pledge history by entering their email address.
Empty state
Section titled “Empty state”If you have not made any pledges, the view displays a message with a link to browse campaigns.
