Ignition Crowdfunding Documentation

Ignition Crowdfunding is a free, open-source WordPress plugin for launching and managing crowdfunding campaigns directly from your website.

This User Guide is written for the people who set up and run a crowdfunding site — WordPress administrators and Ignition operators. If you’re a developer looking to extend the plugin with your own theme or plugin, see the Developer Docs.

What can you do with Ignition Crowdfunding?

Section titled “What can you do with Ignition Crowdfunding?”
  • Launch a crowdfunding site — Create and manage campaigns from a frontend wizard, with admin controls in wp-admin.
  • Open it to outside creators — With the Ignition Platform Mode add-on, independent creators self-register, run campaigns from the frontend, and submit them for approval.
  • Track campaign lifecycle — Campaigns progress through a clear set of statuses from draft to closed, with admin controls at every stage.
  • Support multiple languages — Full internationalization support with translatable strings throughout.
  • Accept pledges from backers — Suggested amounts, custom input, and offline payment instructions on every campaign page.
  • Backer dashboard — Backers track pledge history, view payment instructions, and cancel pledges.
