Campaign Updates
Campaign updates are short posts that keep backers informed about a campaign’s progress, milestones, and news. They appear on the single campaign page, below the description, in a dedicated “Updates” section.
What visitors see
Section titled “What visitors see”Each update displays:
- Title — The update headline.
- Publication date — When the update was published.
- Content — The full text of the update.
- Featured image — An optional image displayed with the update.
Updates are listed in reverse chronological order, most recent first. The section heading includes the number of published updates in parentheses — for example, Updates (3). If a campaign has no published updates, the section is not displayed at all.
Posting an update
Section titled “Posting an update”Updates are posted from a campaign’s management view. Below the campaign summary, the update form has these fields:
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Yes | Update title (max 200 characters). |
| Content | Yes | Rich text for the update body. |
| Featured Image | No | Uploaded via the Insert Image button. |
Click Submit to post the update. It is published and visible on the campaign page right away.
Managing updates
Section titled “Managing updates”Below the form is the list of updates already posted for the campaign. Each shows its title, date, a short content preview, a thumbnail (if an image was added), and Edit and Delete buttons.
- Edit expands the update into an inline editor with the same fields. Click Save to apply changes or Cancel to discard them.
- Delete shows a confirmation dialog. Once confirmed, the update is permanently removed — there is no trash or undo.
Updates in wp-admin
Section titled “Updates in wp-admin”Staff see every campaign’s updates at Ignition → Campaign Updates. That list follows the Live or Test view, and it does so by parent campaign rather than by the update itself: an update belongs to whichever side its campaign does. In Test view with no test campaigns, the list and its counts show nothing rather than quietly falling back to every live update.
Filtering the list to a single campaign leaves it unscoped — you named the campaign, so its side is already settled.
