Add-ons
Ignition Crowdfunding can be extended with add-ons — separate plugins that layer extra functionality (such as online payment gateways) on top of the core plugin. The Add-ons tab under Ignition > Settings is a read-only catalog: it lists the available add-ons, shows which ones you already have, and links you to where each can be downloaded.
The Add-ons tab does not install or activate anything. It is a discovery surface — you download an add-on from the link it provides, then install and activate it through the normal WordPress Plugins screen, exactly as you would any other plugin.
The catalog
Section titled “The catalog”Each add-on appears as one row with five columns:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Add-on | The add-on’s name and a one-line description of what it does. |
| Status | Whether the add-on is Active, Inactive (installed but not activated), or Not Installed. |
| Installed | The version currently installed on your site, or a dash if it isn’t installed. |
| Latest | The latest published version. When it is newer than the version you have, this figure is highlighted. |
| Action | A Download link for add-ons you don’t have yet, an Update link when a newer version is available, or a dash when the installed version is already up to date. |
Download and Update links open in a new tab and take you to where the add-on is published. When an installed add-on has its own settings, a Settings link also appears on its row, opening that add-on’s settings page (see Add-on settings below). Beyond that, the tab has no enable or disable controls — activating and deactivating add-ons happens on the Plugins screen.
If no add-ons are available, the tab shows a short “No add-ons are available right now” message instead of the table.
Installing and activating an add-on
Section titled “Installing and activating an add-on”- On the Add-ons tab, click Download for the add-on you want.
- Install the downloaded plugin the usual way — Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin in wp-admin.
- Activate it from the Plugins screen.
Once active, the add-on shows an Active status back on the Add-ons tab. To deactivate or remove an add-on later, use the Plugins screen — the Add-ons tab only mirrors that state, it does not control it.
Keeping add-ons up to date
Section titled “Keeping add-ons up to date”When an installed add-on has a newer version available, its row shows the new version under Latest and an Update link under Action. Follow the link to download the latest release, then install it over the existing copy from the Plugins screen.
Add-on settings
Section titled “Add-on settings”Some add-ons have their own options. When an add-on provides settings, a Settings link appears on its row here in the Add-ons catalog, and a matching Settings link appears on the add-on’s row on the Plugins screen. Add-ons without settings simply omit the link.
Most add-ons get a page of their own under the Add-ons tab. A few belong somewhere else instead — a payment gateway’s real home is its own screen under the Payments tab, so that is where its Settings link goes. Either way, the link takes you to the screen the add-on actually uses, not to a second half-empty one.
An operator sees a shorter Add-ons tab. It is not the catalog: it lists only the active add-ons that have settings an operator may change, each with its Settings link. When no add-on has such settings, the tab doesn’t appear for operators at all.
