Ignition Favorites

Ignition Favorites lets signed-in visitors favorite the campaigns they care about and revisit them from their dashboard. You can optionally display an aggregate favorite count on campaigns as low-commitment social proof.

Ignition Favorites is a premium add-on. It requires Ignition Crowdfunding 0.16.0 or later to be installed and active. Once you activate it from the Plugins screen, it works immediately — there is nothing to switch on.

A heart control appears in two places:

  • On campaign cards — in the bottom-right corner of each card’s image, wherever campaigns are listed (the campaign archive and the Campaign Grid block).
  • On a campaign’s page — beside the campaign title, and on the Featured Campaign block.

Signed-in visitors click the heart to favorite a campaign and click it again to remove the favorite. The change is instant — the page does not reload. Visitors who are not signed in see the same heart. It carries the accessible label Sign in to favorite — screen-reader users hear it, but nothing extra shows on screen. Clicking it takes them to sign in, and once signed in they can favorite as normal.

Every signed-in user gets a Favorites section in their frontend dashboard. It lists the campaigns they have favorited, most recent first, each with its progress and a link back to the campaign. A Remove button on each row takes a campaign off the list instantly. When a user has no favorites, the section invites them to browse campaigns.

You can optionally show how many people have favorited a campaign. When enabled, the count appears:

  • inline in a campaign’s stats, beside the backer count, on cards and the Featured Campaign block, and
  • as a short line on the single campaign page.

The count is public — every visitor sees the same number, whether or not they are signed in.

Configure the count under Ignition > Settings > Add-ons > Favorites (you can also reach it from the Settings link on the Ignition Favorites row of the Plugins screen). Administrators can change it, and so can operators on Ignition Crowdfunding 0.23.0 or later. There is one setting:

Public favorite count — choose how the count behaves:

Option What visitors see
Show the count always The favorite count is always shown. (default)
Show the count only above a threshold The count appears only once a campaign reaches a number of favorites you set. Below that, no count is shown at all.
Hide the count The count is never shown.

When you choose the threshold option, set the Threshold — the number of favorites a campaign must reach before its count appears (default: 10). This keeps brand-new campaigns from advertising a count of zero or one.

Ignition Favorites is built for WordPress’s privacy tools. When you export a user’s personal data, their favorited campaigns are included, each with the date it was favorited. When you erase a user’s data, all of their favorites are removed. Favorites are also cleaned up automatically when a user or a campaign is deleted.
