Blocks & Shortcodes

Ignition Crowdfunding provides Gutenberg blocks and equivalent shortcodes for embedding plugin functionality on any page.

Renders the frontend login and registration form.

Method Usage
Block igcf/auth-form — Insert via the block editor (search for “Auth Form”).
Shortcode [igcf_auth_form] — Paste into any page or text widget.

Behavior:

  • Displays a tabbed interface with Login and Register tabs.
  • Registration creates a new user with the Campaign Backer role.
  • Login and registration are handled via AJAX for a smooth experience.
  • Already logged-in users see a message instead of the form.

Typical use: Place this block on a dedicated page (e.g., “Account”) and assign it in Ignition > Settings.

Renders the frontend dashboard, where backers track their pledges and every signed-in user manages their account. It also hosts the campaign wizard (for creating and editing campaigns) and each campaign’s management view, where a campaign’s pledges are reviewed and updates are posted.

Method Usage
Block igcf/dashboard — Insert via the block editor (search for “Dashboard”).
Shortcode [igcf_dashboard] — Paste into any page or text widget.

Behavior:

  • Signed-in users see their Pledges and Account sections.
  • The campaign wizard and a campaign’s management view render on this page too. Staff reach them from wp-admin (Campaigns → Add New, and Manage on Dashboard on a campaign’s detail page). There is no separate campaign form page.
  • Logged-out visitors are redirected to the login/register page.
  • See Managing a campaign for the per-campaign view and the Backer Dashboard for the backer-facing sections.

Typical use: Place this block on a dedicated page (e.g., “Dashboard”) and assign it in Ignition > Settings.

Renders the full pledge flow — amount selection (tier or Pledge-What-You-Want), review screen, confirmation, and payment instructions — all on a single page.

Method Usage
Block igcf/checkout — Insert via the block editor (search for “Checkout”).
Shortcode [igcf_checkout] — Paste into any page or text widget.

Behavior:

  • Tier mode: Shows the tier’s image, title, and description with an amount input pre-filled at the tier minimum. Backers can increase but not decrease the amount.
  • PWYW mode: Shows suggested amount chips and a custom amount input.
  • Review mode: Shown after selection. Lists the chosen tier (if any), pledge amount, payment method, anonymity option, and terms acceptance, then a Confirm Pledge button.
  • Logged-out visitors are redirected to the login/register page (or guest-checkout email entry if guest checkout is enabled).
  • For campaigns without reward tiers, the pledge form on the campaign page submits directly to review mode and the selection step is skipped.

Typical use: Place this block on a dedicated page (e.g., “Checkout”) and assign it in Ignition > Settings.

Renders a configurable grid of campaign cards on any page. Useful for landing pages, category pages, and themed collections. Each card is a link to its campaign — clicking anywhere on the card opens the campaign page.

Method Usage
Block igcf/campaign-grid — Insert via the block editor (search for “Campaign Grid”).
Shortcode [igcf_campaign_grid]

Attributes:

Attribute Default Description
count 6 Number of cards (1–50).
columns 3 Columns at desktop width (1–4). Collapses on narrow viewports.
status — Limit to a campaign status slug (e.g., igcf_active).
category — Limit to a category term slug.
tag — Limit to a tag term slug.
sort ending_soon One of: ending_soon, most_funded, newest, most_backers, closest_to_goal.
featured false When true, only campaigns flagged Featured appear.
showStatus true Show status badges on cards.
showCategories true Show category labels on cards.
showTags true Show tag chips on cards.

Shortcode attribute names use snake case (e.g., show_status, show_categories, show_tags).

Renders a single campaign as a hero, with a larger image, longer excerpt, and a prominent CTA. Useful as the lede on landing pages. If the campaign has both a video and a featured image, the hero shows the image with a play button and loads the video only when a visitor clicks it.

Method Usage
Block igcf/featured-campaign — Insert via the block editor (search for “Featured Campaign”).
Shortcode [igcf_featured_campaign]

Attributes:

Attribute Default Description
mode auto auto picks a campaign by criteria; manual uses a specific campaign.
campaignId 0 (Manual mode) The campaign post ID to render.
autoCriteria most_funded (Auto mode) One of: most_funded, ending_soon, most_backers, closest_to_goal, newest.

In auto mode, the block falls back to the next-best match if the top pick is unavailable. In manual mode, an unavailable ID renders nothing on the public side and a placeholder in the editor.

Shortcode attributes: mode, campaign_id, auto_criteria.

All blocks accept a single optional attribute:

Attribute Type Default Description
className string "" Additional CSS class(es) for the block wrapper.

These are server-side rendered blocks — they do not require React or JavaScript in the editor beyond a simple placeholder.
