Dashboard Widget
Ignition Crowdfunding adds an Ignition Crowdfunding widget to your main wp-admin Dashboard (the first screen you see after logging in). It gives staff an at-a-glance picture of money flowing through your campaigns over the last 12 weeks, without opening any campaign or pledge screen.
The widget is visible only to staff (administrators and operators). Backers never see it — they work entirely from the frontend dashboard.
The figures follow your Live or Test view. In Live view the chart covers live money only — test campaigns cannot inflate your revenue. In Test view it covers test money only.
What the widget shows
Section titled “What the widget shows”At the top, three running totals summarize the whole 12-week window:
| Figure | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Received | Money actually collected — succeeded payments, including offline payments you’ve recorded. |
| Pending | Amounts still uncollected from pledges that are awaiting payment. |
| Refunded | Money refunded to backers over the window. |
Below the totals is a weekly bar chart. Each bar is one week (Monday–Sunday by default, in your site’s time zone), oldest on the left and the current week on the right, labeled now. Within each bar:
- The Received and Pending portions stack above the baseline, so a tall bar is a strong week.
- The Refunded amount, when there is any, shows as a separate band below the baseline, drawn on the same scale as the bars above it — so heights above and below the baseline are directly comparable.
A single gridline marks the top of the shared scale with its value. Very small amounts are drawn at a minimum height so they stay visible next to big weeks, and hovering any bar — including the refund band — reveals a tooltip with that week’s exact Received, Pending, and Refunded amounts.
How amounts are dated
Section titled “How amounts are dated”Each amount appears in the week the money actually moved, not the week the pledge was created:
- Pending sits in the week the pledge was made, because that commitment is what’s still outstanding.
- Received sits in the week the payment succeeded — for offline payments, that’s the week you recorded the payment.
- Refunded sits in the week the refund was issued.
This makes the chart a true weekly cash-flow view: what came in, what’s still owed, and what went back out. For the underlying pledge, payment, and refund records, see Managing Pledges and Refunds.
When the widget is empty
Section titled “When the widget is empty”If there has been no pledge activity in the last 12 weeks, the widget shows a short message instead of an empty chart. It begins reporting as soon as backers start pledging.
In Test view, the message names the view — so a flat chart reads as “you’re looking at the test side” rather than “your money disappeared”.
