Ignition Platform Mode v0.3.0
Two changes worth knowing about. Who receives a pledge is now one setting for the whole site rather than a choice buried in each payment method, and a backer who decides to run a campaign no longer has to ask you for permission.
New Features
Section titled “New Features”-
Who Receives Pledges — A single setting under Ignition → Settings → Add-ons → Platform Mode: either you collect every pledge and pay creators out yourself, or pledges go straight to the campaign’s creator. It applies to every payment method at once. That is the point of it living here — “who gets the money” is a fact about how your platform works, and a site where PayPal pays creators while offline payments come to you is a site nobody can reason about. Each method’s settings screen then follows the choice instead of asking again: Offline drops its site-wide instructions field when creators collect, PayPal shows only the credential set the choice needs, and Platform Fees warns you when your commission has nothing to take a cut of. See Who receives pledges.

Backers can become creators — Someone who signed up to back a campaign, and later wants to run one, presses Start a Campaign in their own dashboard. They get the creator role alongside what they already have and land in the campaign wizard, keeping their account and their pledge history. The offer appears only while Public Campaign Creation is on, and only to someone who has never held creator access — so revoking a creator’s access sticks. It is withheld until the person has proven the email address is theirs: a guest is offered Claim Your Account instead, and an unverified account is asked to verify first. See Backers who decide to create.
Improvements
Section titled “Improvements”- The Creators list follows the Live/Test view — The roster, each creator’s stat tiles, and their campaign table all scope to whichever view you are in, matching every other admin screen. A creator whose only campaign is a test campaign appears in Test view. In Test view a zero tile is captioned rather than left to look like a creator who has raised nothing. See The Creators list and Live and Test view.
Developer
Section titled “Developer”-
A take-over seam for granting creator access —
igcf_platform_pre_creator_accessfires at both doors that grant the role — registration and the dashboard upgrade. Return a URL to take over: no role is granted, and from the dashboard the person is sent there instead. This is where a verification, application or identity-check add-on hooks. See the Platform Mode developer reference. -
Creator stat tiles receive the view mode —
igcf_platform_creator_stat_tilesgains a fourth$modeargument, and the$aggregatesit passes are already scoped to it. Scope your own figure the same way or your tile will disagree with the ones beside it. Receiving it is opt-in viaaccepted_args. See the Platform Mode developer reference. -
Creator queries require a scope —
Igcf_Platform_Creator_Service::query_paginated()andget_aggregates_for_user()now take an$argsarray with a requiredscope, mirroring core’s backer service. Note thatuser_iddoes not narrow it: one creator can have campaigns on both sides. See the Platform Mode developer reference.
Compatibility
Section titled “Compatibility”- Now requires Ignition Crowdfunding 0.21.0 — the Creators screens scope to the Live/Test view, which 0.21.0 introduces. The add-on refuses to start on an older core and tells you to update.
