Ignition PayPal Gateway v0.4.0

PayPal used to carry its own Direct / Platform selector, which meant a multi-creator site could answer “who receives the money” one way for PayPal and another way for offline payments. That question now has one site-wide answer, and PayPal follows it.

  • One place decides who gets paid — The Integration model selector is gone from the PayPal settings page. Whether pledges go to you or to each creator is set once, under Ignition → Settings → Add-ons → Platform Mode, and every payment method follows it. See Choosing who gets paid.

  • Only the credentials you actually need — The settings page now shows a single credential group rather than two: Merchant keys when pledges come to you, Platform keys and your Account ID when they go to creators. Each still has its live and sandbox pair with a per-environment connection test. You are never asked to fill in a set of keys the site will not use.

  • Settings link on the Plugins screen — PayPal’s row on the Plugins screen now carries a Settings link that opens its screen under the Payments tab, rather than a near-empty page of its own.

  • The switch sits with the settings — Turning PayPal on is now the Accept PayPal toggle at the top of its own settings screen, alongside the credentials, rather than a checkbox back on the Payments listing.

  • Sign in, not log in — Wording on the creator-facing PayPal account screen matches core’s Title Case buttons and “sign in” vocabulary.

  • Now requires Ignition Crowdfunding 0.21.0 — this release reads core’s site-wide pledge-routing setting, which 0.21.0 introduces. The add-on refuses to start on an older core and tells you to update, rather than failing partway through a checkout.
