Ignition PayPal Gateway v0.2.0

This release adds Platform mode: on a multi-creator platform, PayPal can now pay each pledge directly to the campaign’s own creator and take an optional cut for your platform — settled automatically by PayPal, with no manual payouts. Direct-mode checkout (every pledge into your own account) is unchanged and remains the default. Platform mode requires the Ignition Platform Mode add-on and Ignition Crowdfunding 0.19.0 or later.

  • Platform mode (marketplace fee splitting) — Switch PayPal from Direct mode to Platform mode and each pledge is split at PayPal the moment a backer pays: the creator receives their share in their own PayPal account and your platform receives its cut in yours. Built on PayPal for Marketplaces. See Platform mode.
  • Creator PayPal onboarding — Creators connect their own PayPal account from their dashboard under Account → PayPal, through PayPal’s guided click-through — business or personal accounts, no keys to copy. Their connection status is visible to you in the wp-admin Creators list. See How your creators connect.
  • Integration-model selector — A Direct mode / Platform mode choice on the PayPal settings page, with a separate Platform-app credential set and its own per-environment connection test. See Choosing the integration model.
  • Split-or-nothing safety — PayPal is offered on a campaign only when its creator has connected and can actually be paid; otherwise it’s hidden and backers use the other methods. A pledge is never quietly routed to your own account instead of the creator’s. See Split-or-nothing.
  • Split-aware refunds — Refunding a split pledge reverses your platform’s cut in proportion to the amount returned, so creator and platform each give back their share. See Refunds in Platform mode.
  • New event actions — igcf_paypal_split_order_created fires alongside igcf_paypal_order_created for split orders, and igcf_paypal_creator_onboarding_started, igcf_paypal_creator_connected, and igcf_paypal_creator_connection_revoked track a creator’s PayPal connection. See the PayPal developer reference.
  • Platform-active override — A new igcf_paypal_platform_is_active filter overrides whether the add-on treats Platform Mode as active, for tests and specialized setups. See the PayPal developer reference.
  • Gateway capability — The gateway advertises core’s new platform_mode capability, so platform-fee and payout add-ons can detect split-capable checkout through Igcf_Payment_Gateway_Service::gateway_supports(). The platform cut rides on core’s application-fee seam. See the PayPal developer reference.
